SPL Innotech's End-to-End IPTV System Takes Center Stage
at NAB 2006
Highlights patented technologies for fast and cost effective rollout of revenue generating IP-based multimedia services
Singapore - 20 April 2006 - SPL Innotech, a leading provider of multimedia delivery and management solution, today announced its participation to the National Association Broadcasters Conference (NAB) 2006 in Las Vegas, showcasing its complete suite of patented technologies for the delivery of high quality IPTV services and multimedia content.
The company will highlight at the four-day event, touted the world's biggest gathering of entertainment and media professionals, its H.264 main profile codec for a high quality satellite TV channels/movies at 600 kbps and its complete IPTV system that is extremely flexible and customizable. It will also demonstrate cutting edge solutions for quick and cost effective rollout of revenue generating value added services such as Video on Demand (VOD), Live Satellite TV over the Public Internet; Voice over IP along with this many more. SPL would give an exposure to its complete Network Operating Center for the service providers, where they can see the flexibility of the solution with ease of use and they can get hands on experience for various revenue models. A full fledge Hospitality solution would also be showcased by SPL at NAB, it would give an e-comfort of a hotel at the booth itself.

According to the latest report by research group IDC "Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) IPTV Market 2006-2010 Forecast and Analysis", the number of IPTV subscribers in the APEJ region is expected to increase from 1.2 million subscribers in 2005 to a monumental 29.7 million subscribers in 2010 at an impressive compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 89%.
IDC also added that growth opportunities for IPTV remain promising across APEJ throughout the forecast period. IPTV can represent a golden opportunity for telecommunication carriers looking to tap into new revenue streams beyond data and voice services.
IPTV Innovator

In this case, the hotel also would not require a separate cable for CATV channel distribution or multi-switching DVB-S/DVB-T system and all the TV channels could be delivered through the common LAN on IP.

A complete content delivery network over IP to a leading US broadcaster, which will utilize SPL IP set top box to reach a targeted 1 million audience. The system will go live on Q306.
US$6 million head-end technology to enable the transport of Bulgarian TV content over IP network around the world. The first phase of the project involved the downlink of six Bulgarian channels using SPL IP set top boxes to stream and redistribute content through the public Internet to an estimated 750 customers around the world.
A complete hospitality solution to a leading hotel chain in Italy to cater live channels, video on demand and other hotel utility services.
Partnering with Goldstone Technologies in India to launch the next generation IPTV services. The tie-up aims to target the non-resident Indian community all over the world, mainly in Europe, Australia and in Asia by providing them with Indian channel and content on IPTV. Content will be encoded into MPEG-4/H.264 compression format locally before being stored on Server for Streaming.
